Free medical camp on April 17 for low-income workers

The Indian Islamic Association Qatar (IIAQ) and Indian Medical Association Qatar Chapter (IMA) will organise the eight Free Medical Camp for low-income expatriates on April 17. This year’s medical camp will be held at Al Istiqlal Boys Secondary School, V T Abdullakoya and IMA President Dr Sameer Kalandan said. Qtel will be the main sponsor of the camp, to be held with the assistance of the Ministry of Public Health and Hamad Medical Corporation. A camp organising committee with P M Abubacker, head of IIAQ Social Services, as its convener, has been formed to make preparations for the camp. The day-long camp will also feature a medical exhibition, health awareness classes and medical stalls set up by voluntary organisations. The camp will facilitate free medical treatment of pre-registered expatriates whose income does not exceed QR1,500 per month. Registration can be done by calling the IIAQ office or through IIA members.
