Free medical camp for low-income workers

Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), a charitable organisation under the aegis of the Indian embassy, in association with Indian Doctors Club Qatar (IDC) and KIMS Qatar Medical Centre is organising its 14th medical camp for low-income workers on Friday at KIMS Qatar Medical Centre (Wakrah) from 7.30am to 12.30pm. The camp will provide free consultation, including orthopaedic specialisation treatment as well as hypertension, diabetic and cholesterol check-ups and free medicines for around 350-450 workers, 150 of whom will be fishermen living in Wakrah and Wukair. ICBF unit has started pre-registration of workers for the camp. Spot registration will be done on the day of camp for deserving patients. A team of 12 doctors, paramedical staffs and pharmacists from IDC and KIMS will assist the camp. Besides, a team of some 30 volunteers from Karnataka Sangha Qatar will be working at the camp. The Supreme Council of Health has agreed to supply free medicines to those diagnosed with diseases, said Kareem Abdulla, President of ICBF. The camp will be inaugurated by the Deputy Chief of Mission, the Indian embassy, P S Sasikumar and the Director of South Security, Mohammad Jassim Al Sulaiti.
