The Qatari Calendar House announced that four of the planets of our solar system (Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, and Saturn) will meet the moon in the sky of the State of Qatar during the month of February, in addition to that during the current period the residents of the State of Qatar can see the planet Jupiter with the naked eye in the evening sky after sunset, while they can see Mercury, Mars and Venus in the dawn sky before sunrise.

Dr. Bashir Marzouk, the astronomer expert at the Qatari Calendar House stated that on the evening of Wednesday, 1 Rajab 1443 AH, corresponding to February 2, 2022 AD, the giant of the solar system “Jupiter” will be at an angular distance of 4.3 degrees arcs north of the center of the crescent of the month of Rajab. Qatar monitors and sees the moon and “Jupiter” together with the naked eye towards the western horizon of the sky of the State of Qatar from after the sunset date of tomorrow until the sunset of the moon at 6:39 pm Doha local time.

As for the dawn of Sunday, 26 Rajab 1443 AH, corresponding to February 27, 2022 AD, the red planet (Mars) will meet with the waning crescent of the month of Rajab, where (Mars) will be at an angular distance of 3.5 degrees of arcs north of the center of the moon, and the residents of the State of Qatar will be able to observe and see (Mars) and the moon together with the naked eye in the dawn sky above the eastern horizon from after the sunrise date of (Mars) at 3:35 am, until sunrise on the sky of Qatar at 5:59 am Doha local time.

He pointed out that at the dawn of the following day, Monday, 27 of Rajab 1443 AH, corresponding to February 28, 2022 AD, each of the smallest planets of our solar system (Mercury), and the planet with wonderful rings (Saturn) will be located north of the center of the diminishing crescent of the month of Rajab, and the residents of the State of Qatar will be able to observe and see the moon, (Mercury) and (Saturn) together with the naked eye above the eastern horizon of the sky of the State of Qatar from after the date of Saturn’s sunrise at 4:57 am Doha local time until before sunrise, and it is preferable to monitor from places far from pollution.

The importance of these astronomical phenomena lies in the fact that they are a good opportunity to enjoy seeing and monitoring the planets of our solar system and the moon at the announced times, in addition to it confirming the accuracy of the astronomical calculations used in calculating the orbits of the movement of planets and stars, and it is also a guide for astronomers to learn about the view of the sky during the current month, with Emphasizing that they are natural phenomena and will not affect the planet as non-specialists claim.
