The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that four north-bound lanes on a section of Al Shamal Road will be closed for four months from Wednesday to facilitate infrastructure works.
Traffic will be diverted to the opposite side of the road, which will be divided into two lanes in each direction.
In a statement, Ashghal said it was implementing the diversion to complete construction of a bridge at the Lehwaila interchange (interchange 66).
The authority has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the diversion and urged all road users to abide by the speed limit, which has been reduced to 60km/h near the diversion, to ensure their safety.
