It was an unexpected Saturday for us all when thunder and lightning joined forces to later on bring heavy rain around noon time yesterday in major parts of Qatar.
Strong winds reaching 42 kt concentrating mainly in the capital was recorded together with 84 mm precipitation level seen in Abu Hamour station—which is considered the highest-ever daily rainfall amount in the month of October according to climate records by the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).
Meanwhile, rainfall level were 31 mm and 23 mm yesterday in Ras Lafan and Al Khor respectively.
With these figures, there's no doubt that Qatar really has received more than enough rainfall for 2018 and while some people are getting annoyed by the hassle of getting wet and being stuck in long traffic, some residents just can't get enough of the once-in-a-blue moon phenomenon that they even decided to make fun of the flood by doing these!

When there's water, then there'll be athletes for sure—making use of nature's gift! Well this resident might have gone a little too far but admit it guys, you'll do the same once you see knee-high flood water, right? We'll appreciate it though if you'll dive in a clearer pond next time!

There might not be any strong wave in this part of the world but a thrill-seeker would be happy to raft in the floods of Qatar especially with the rain momentarily falling in the background. All that you'll be needing next are oars and a bunch of equally-crazy friends to really feel the splash!

No need to drive more than 50 kms to Sealine or Fuwairit to experience the adrenaline of riding the jet ski as every flooded day in Qatar means a more accessible portal for water motor lovers! This guy for example drove all the way through while residents take videos of him in one of the most waterlogged tunnels in Doha.

We were at the edge of our seats too when we saw this dare attempt for the first time. We mean, you guys can't blame us! We're not sure exactly how high the drop was as well as the water's depth and yes, one wrong move could've cost the young boy's life too. Good thing he landed safely and surprisingly even managed to wade his way through the water without feeling anything! What a pro!

We're happy to see these kinds of activities happening amid the unstable weather that's bound to continue until tomorrow (October 22) according to QMD. Just make sure to always observe further precaution in order to avoid any injury or casualty—that's the last thing that we'd like to happen!
