As support for breast cancer awareness in Qatar, Sidra will be giving away Fit Bit devices to the first 1,000 participants in the Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Walk taking place on October 25 on the Pearl Island. Fit Bit is a portable device that tracks exercise, activity levels and calories consumed to help people maintain a healthy lifestyle. Sidra employees have taken part in the annual work previously, bringing their enthusiasm and commitment to increase the reach of cancer education among the local population. Collaboration with Think Pink Qatar expanded this year when Sidra held a cancer prevention and education event as part of its Bil Afia employee wellness programme to mark World Cancer Day. “I’m overwhelmed by the positive response and number of Sidra employees who have signed up for the walk and very excited to offer Fit Bit devices to other dedicated participants. “Sidra recently ran a hugely successful employee Fit Bit competition through our Bil Afia programme and wanted to help bring similar experiences to other Doha residents,” said Sidra Communications Director Khalid Al Mohannadi. “Positive lifestyle choices and early detection are the first lines of defence in the fight against cancer, and events like the Think Pink Walk bring attention to the need for awareness and education. “We are happy to continue our partnership with Sidra and are thankful for their generous Fit Bit donation,” added Karen Al Kharouf, Founder of Think Pink. Working with organisations such as Think Pink Qatar to beat cancer through awareness and education is a responsibility of every healthcare organisation. Sidra’s employees are dedicated to making a positive contribution to improving women’s and children’s health. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/qatar/256018-fit-bit-kits-for-breast-cancer-awareness-participants.html
