GULF Helicopters Company (GHC), a 30% subsidiary of Qatar Petroleum, plans to buy fire-fighting choppers to tackle blazes in towers, a senior official at the company told the Arrayah daily. General manager (operations) Fred Layton said that GHC was in talks with a French company over buying the helicopters. “We consider acquiring helicopters which are specifically designed to fight fires in towers. They are equipped with tanks that can be filled with chemicals used in extinguishing fires,” Layton was quoted as saying to the daily. GT
