A fire broke out Monday, June 1, 2020, at one of the factories in the New Industrial Area which spread to the neighboring factory as well. Eyewitnesses who submitted photos and footages mentioned that they noticed the thick black smoke billowing around noon.
According to sources, the fire blazed the factory of Doha Plastics along Street 3 for more than 10 hours before it was finally doused by the firefighters that rushed immediately to the scene because of the chemicals present in the factory. There were no official reports on the cause of the fire and if there are any injuries.
As of press time, we are still waiting for the official report from the Civil Defense.
