Guinness World Records on its official website has published that Filipino Romil Putong Abule achieved the Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing of Qatar on foot (male). He achieved this in 1 day, 8 hr 59 min in Doha, Qatar, on 20 October 2022.
As per the official announcement, Romil wanted to achieve this record as a challenge for himself and to be an inspiration to others, especially his family. He left the Philippines in 2012. When he arrived in Qatar, he took up running as a distraction from homesickness. He has been doing this throughout the past 10 years. and his goal is to be recognised as one of the best Filipino runners in Qatar.
