Fanar hosts Filipinos for basketball game

Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar) hosted 60 Filipinos in a basketball programme at Al Sadd Sports Club last Friday. Fanar aims to firm up it relationship with the Filipino community as part of its mission to offer non-Muslims the opportunity to understand Islamic culture and teach Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. Fanar is a charitable organization that works to motivate non-Muslims to become more informed about Islam and Islamic culture. The 60 players are registered to participate in the programme, which runs for six weeks. They are participating in four teams along with referees. During the event, Fanar staff delivered speeches on human relationships. Just as Islam organizes the relationship between man and Allah, it organizes the relationship amongst humans, they said.
