A Qatari family, one of whose members is a six-year-old physically challenged girl, is living in a house with no electricity or water supply. The family was earlier living in a remote village, but the head of the nine-member family moved to a smaller township near Al Qarana in the hope that his children would get an opportunity for schooling. They moved to a locality near Al Qarana since there was a school nearby and stayed with a relative, but soon the entire locality was demolished. The family was left with no choice but to move to a cheaper place. They shifted to Abu Nakhla to stay with another relative, but the house was too small for the large family. This forced the head of the family to look for other options. A woman relative of theirs, meanwhile, offered them a house which had no electricity or water supply. They moved in. The woman was not living in the house, which was allotted to her by the social affairs department.
