ExxonMobil forms body to enhance Qatarisation

DOHA: With a keen focus on the Human Development Pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, the ExxonMobil University Liaison Committee (ULC) was formed to further the Qatarisation programme at ExxonMobil Qatar Inc. ULC consists of representatives of different business lines within ExxonMobil such as Gas and Power Marketing, Information Technology, Human Resources, Public Affairs, Research, Support Services, Production and Law. The members of the ULC work toward building relationships with students and career counselling divisions of the various universities in Qatar. The ULC aims to attract qualified candidates to ExxonMobil, through the form of scholarships and internships. ULC recognises talented and bright students of universities who can contribute to capacity building and national development of resources when selected to join ExxonMobil Qatar. Members of the ULC regularly participate in career fairs across major universities and high schools held around the year. They also initiate and sponsor academic competitions and professional networking activities. Education, training and development of Qatari nationals are among key priorities within the organisation. ExxonMobil Qatar is also committed to attracting, developing, and retaining the best people from the broadest possible employee pool to meet its business needs worldwide. Qatarisation is a key element of ExxonMobil Qatar strategic business plan. Through focused efforts of the ULC, the organisation is steadily progressing toward the national target of a 50-percent Qatari workforce. ExxonMobil is committed to support Qatar and one of the most important contributions that can be made to Qatar and its citizens is to help support economic growth and the well-being of the nation
