Vodafone has named the grand prize winner of its World Calling Club competition- ‘Call Home and Win a Home’. The winner - Mostafa Mohamed from Egypt – received a cheque for QR250,000 from Vodafone Qatar acting CEO John Tombleson at a function held at the Vodafone Store in Musheireb. Since April 2011, Vodafone customers have been winning prizes in the ‘Call Home and Win a Home’ competition. Customers earned chances to win with every minute of every international call and every SMS sent to an international destination via the World Calling Club. Each week 10 winners received handsets and shopping vouchers, 500 received prizes of calling credit. For three months now, customers have been anticipating their chance to win QR250,000 towards building a house in their home country. “I am truly honoured to have had the privilege of handing Mohamed his grand prize of QR250,000, which will be used towards building that dream home back in Egypt,” Tombleson said. “We are proud that Vodafone has been able to make a world of difference to Mohamed life and to thousands of other people in Qatar through Vodafone’s World Calling Club’s great international calling rates. We are grateful that customers depend on our services to stay in touch with their loved ones abroad.” In addition to the grand prize, there were 12 weekly draws where more than 6,000 customers won handsets, shopping vouchers and calling credit .
