With less than 10 days to go the Arab Games Doha 2011, the excitement is building throughout Qatar with the Arab Games Organising Committee (AGOC) giving everyone a chance to play and feel part of the games through a series of mall events. The Games will be held between December 9 and 23. Starting this weekend and running up right up to the opening ceremony on December 9, interactive mall events in the Villaggio mall between December 1 and 10 have been designed to reach out to and inspire young people in the local community through sports and a chance to play. The sports themed events aimed at families and younger visitors to the malls give everyone the opportunity to watch sports with win tickets to the Arab Games Doha 2011 on-site. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event with a range of entertaining attractions that include foosball table, basketball, a goal scoring wall, punching bag, Playstation 3 games, and a hula hoop station. Speaking ahead of a weekend of Arab Games fun for young people at Villaggio Mall, manager of promotions of Arab Games Committee Abdulla al-Mohammadi said: “In just under 10 days Doha will welcome the very best Arab Athletes. As hosts of the Arab Games for the first time the countdown in Doha is a period of great excitement and pride. We wish to share that excitement and let all communities in Qatar feel part of the Arab Games especially the youngest members of the community, letting them win tickets to see real sporting drama.” With the multi-sport event only less than two weeks away, tickets sales are already increasing by the day. Carefully designed packages for individuals, groups of friends, and families are on sale now in order to make this Arab Games accessible and enjoyable to all. Full-day, single, and sports fan ticketing packages can be purchased at Virgin Megastores at The Landmark and Villaggio malls and through the official website of Arab Games Doha 2011: http://www.arabgames2011.qa. Selected packages include discounts on QOC and Arab Games merchandise, dining outlets, shopping, and car wash services, among others. “In Qatar sport is our past, our present and within our vision of the future.
