Qatar's dog rescue organisation, 2nd Chance Rescue, announced today that 50% of all proceeds from original art purchased from Eucurome Paintings will be donated to the organisation this June.

The fundraiser 'Art for Animals' will run until the end of June and will include paintings available from Eucurome’s online gallery.

Paintings start from just QR 200 and can be viewed via Eucurome Paintings on Facebook or by emailing [email protected] to schedule a viewing appointment.

Abdulla al-Naemi, founder of 2nd Chance Rescue, said “This donation will help directly fund our ever growing medical bills, so that we can continue to help as well as treat the abandoned and stray animals of Qatar. By buying a piece of art from Eucurome this month, you will not only buy something for your house, but a reminder that you helped 2nd Chance Rescue and our 120 strong family of dogs.”

Eucurome which means “I heal myself”, has chosen to support 2nd Chance Rescue as they give abandoned and mistreated animals “a chance to heal and be a part of life again.”

Eucurome Paintings and gallery came to Doha in 2011, displaying a wide range of modern and impressionistic paintings influenced by well-known artists such as Chagall, Picasso, and Patricia Cabaleiro.

Eucurome’s paintings include depictions of animals, people, and bright colourful scenes inspired by the Middle East, Asia and Brazil.

This is the first in a series of events in 2014 for 2ndChance Rescue, as the organisation aims to reach out to the communities of Doha, raise awareness and update their current facilities.

Donations of food will be accepted at the 2nd Chance Rescue facility in Qatar or via its partner organisation Park View Pet Center.
