Employees in Qatar most satisfied in the Gulf: Survey

Recent research has revealed that 30 percent of employees in Qatar are highly satisfied with their work, making them the most satisfied workers in the Gulf and third most highly satisfied employees across the region as a whole. Lebanon and Morocco have the highest levels of job satisfaction at 36 percent and 35 percent respectively. The survey was commissioned by the job site Bayt.com alongside research specialists YouGovSiraj. The study also found that of all the nationalities surveyed, Gulf nationals across all countries scored the lowest in terms of job satisfaction, with only 26 percent enjoying a high level of satisfaction in their work. Around 9,700 workers across the region and Pakistan responded to the survey in March 2008. Entitled the Employee Loyalty survey, it aimed at understanding the perceptions and attitudes of Middle Eastern employees about their career, the work they do and the organisation they work for. Qatar ranks second among the Gulf countries in terms of satisfaction with their organisation, with 25 percent of respondents saying satisfaction is high.
