Emirati artiste Hussain al -Jassmi is to perform at a concert on March 15 at the Museum of Islamic Art Park.
The concert, starting at 8pm, will be the second in a series of musical performances planned at MIA Park throughout the year.
Hussain al-Jassmi, started his artistic career after being launched by the TV programme Layali Dubai during the Dubai Shopping Festival in 1997-1998.
He is well-known for hit singles such as Bawada’ak and Wallah Mayiswa but is probably best-known for the song Bassbour Ala Fourgakom which is one of the synchronised tunes played at the Dubai Fountain.
Al -Jassmi has performed in a number of festivals all over the region, including Salalah, in Oman, and in Carthage, Tunisia, in addition to several festivals in Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.
He was the first Arab artist to sing in the famous Lido Hall in Paris, and has appeared on other theatres in Paris, London, Cannes, Geneva and Marbella.
In 2008, Al- Jassmi was a recipient of the Murex d’Or award, under the category of “best Arabic male singer.” He also won a prize for the best singer in the Oscar International Video Clip in Egypt for the year 2011, for the song “Yakfii Ta’ebt”
As a new recreational facility in Doha, MIA Park hosts Hussain al-Jassmi concert aiming to engage the local community and offer a new venue for entertainment, creativity and leisure.
Tickets for the concert will be available online and at the Museum of the
Islamic Art .
