Emirates cuts fares for tickets issued in Qatar

Emirates yesterday announced a revision in First, Business and Economy Class fares for tickets issued in Qatar, ranging from reductions of 20 to 40 percent. The Dubai-based carrier's move follows the worldwide softening in oil prices. Travellers to Amman, Damascus, Bangkok, Mumbai, Kozhikode, Paris, Colombo, Cochin, Delhi, Frankfurt, Munich, Hong Kong, Hyderabad, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Zurich can avail of the new fares. Saeed Khalifa bin Sulaiman, Emirates' Manager in Qatar, said: "Demand for Emirates' flights has remained robust, but we are glad to be able to introduce further fare revisions in tandem with the lowering fuel prices. We believe that our latest round of revisions will be welcomed by our customers, particularly in light of the increasingly challenging economic climate. He said: "Emirates is monitoring the (fuel price) situation closely. While we continue to provide a high-quality service and product, we are also working hard to keep our unit costs down so that we can keep on delivering the best value proposition to our customers."
