The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani issued yesterday the Emiri decision No. 76 of 2009 forming the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) presided over by the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Emiri decision stipulates that the Board of Directors of the ictQatar shall include: 1. The Minister of State for International Cooperation and Acting Minister of Business and Trade H E Dr Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah as Vice-Chairman. 2. The Minister of State for Interior Affairs H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. 3. The Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. and 4. The Economic Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Development Planning H E Dr Ibrahim Al Ibrahim. The decision stipulates that the membership of the Council shall be four years, renewable for a period or other similar periods. The decision is to go into force from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.
Emir greets Turkish president
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has sent a cable of greetings to Turkish President on the occasion of his country’s National Day. The Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also sent to the Turkish President a similar cable congratulating him on the occasion.
Qatar, South Korea sign MoU
on security cooperation
Doha: Qatar and South Korea signed yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on security cooperation in areas of common interests and the fight against crime. The MoU was signed for Qatar by Director General of Public Security H E Maj Gen Saad bin Jassem Al Khulaifi, and for Korea by Commissioner-General of Korean Police National Agency Kang Hee-rak.
The MoU stipulates the exchange of information and experiences in the field of training and utilisation of expertise between the two countries. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of State for Interior Affairs H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
