Eid cultural fiesta for expat workers

The Community Policing Section of North Security Department in association with Sameeksha, the art and cultural wing of Qatar Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre, will organise a cultural fiesta for expat workers. ‘Eid Ka Chand’ will be held at the Al Khor Sports Club tomorrow from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. “The expatriate workers are our brothers and partners in the development of this country and we value their contribution to the progress of this State. “We respect all expat workers and thank them for their participation in nation-building. “As we are happy on this occasion of Eid Al Adha, we are also keen to make them feel happy and want them to enjoy this happy occasion like us,” Community Policing Officer at the department, Lt. Shaheen Rashid Al Atheeq Al Dosari told a recent press conference. He said the Ministry of Interior represented by community policing sections of various security departments and public relations department always take part in programmes organised by expat communities in Qatar. This time the ministry will highlight security and safety through messages and information and the public can interact with police to clarify doubts or post comments. Eid Ka Chand is an evening of songs by expat singers in Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali and Tamil and performances such as Nepalese dance, Oppana, Kolkali and Magic Show. Entry is free. The organising committee has reserved a special area for families. A raffle draw with prizes will also be held.
