On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, the Ministry of Interior will be organizing ‘Eid Al Fitr Awareness and Cultural Festival’ with the aim providing a safer environment for expatriate communities and workers to celebrate Eid Al Fitron first and second days of Eid Al Fitr from 5 pm – 10 pm at Asian town (Open yard near cricket stadium) in Industrial area. On the same time, the Barwa Group also will be organizing Eid Al Fitr celebrations for the communities on first and second days of Eid in Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor industrial area from 5pm – 10 pm.

This was announced public relations officer from the Ministry of Interior by Lt. Waleed Muhammed Al Abdullah in a press conference held today afternoon in the officers’ club in the headquarters of the Civil Defense. Assistant director of communications of the Barwa group Ali Shaheen Al Kuwari, awareness officer from civil defense Lt. Abdul Hadi Al Murri, community reach out office coordinator at Ministry of Interior Faisal Al Hudawi and facility manager of Bin Ajayan projects Ahmed Aidarouse also attended the press conference.

7 departments such as Traffic, Civil Defense, Community Policing, Al Fazaa Police, Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs, Search and Follow Up Department and Human Rights Department from the Ministry of Interior will take part in this event with awareness programs on traffic safety, pedestrian safety, awareness messages on risks of drug abuse and mental stimulants usage, risks of carrying belonging of others when coming to Qatar without verifying its content, procedures to bring medicine to Qatar, importance of carrying ID card, risks of gathering in front of accident sites and taking pictures of accidents’ victims and Qatar’s custom and tradition.

In addition to this, prominent communities and orchestra teams will present shows and performances from 5 pm, speaking in the press conference said Lt. Waleed Al Abdullah. In addition to this, there will be opportunity for the workers of the companies and community members to showcase their talents in singing, acting and drama playing and the audience will be getting about 700 prizes through raffle draws during two days program.

Speaking on behalf of Barwa, assistant director of communications Ali Shaheen Al Kuwari said that the Barwa group has been organizing the communities programs since last three years as a part of its social responsibility and this time on the occasion of Eid, Barwa will be organizing two days program at Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor from 5 pm until 10 pm. The main attractions of the event are performances and shows by popular orchestra troupe and communities teams in addition to this, the Ministry of Interior will contribute to the success of the event by delivering safety and security messages to the audience. Barwa has arranged many gifts for the public which will be distributed through raffle draw, he added.

On behalf of Civil Defense, Lt. Abdul Hadi said that the department will take part in the event by presenting awareness messages to the public on fighting simple fire breakouts and major fire accidents at establishments as well as how to evacuate immediately in case of fire.

Speaking on behalf of Bin Ajayan group, Facility manager Ahmed Aidarouse said that the group is very proud to host this program in Asian Town. In addition to this event at Asian Town, Bin Ajayan group will be organizing several musical and sports event on first and second days of Eid.

At the end of the press conference, Lt. Waleed urged the communities members and companies’ representatives to send maximum number of people to this event as it will be a golden opportunity for them to impart very important information and knowledge about the rules and regulations related with safety and security in Qatar.
