The Qatar Calendar House announced on 9 April 2023 that according to the accurate astronomical calculations conducted by specialists, Friday, corresponding to 21 April 2023, will be the first day of the month of Shawwal and the first day of the blessed Eid Al Fitr for the year 1444 AH astronomically.
The legal decision to enter the month of Shawwal remains within the competence of the Crescent Investigation Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar.
Engineer Faisal Al Ansari, Executive Director of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex, stated that the crescent of the month of Shawwal for the year 1444 AH will be born on Thursday, corresponding to 20 April 2023 (the day of investigation), at 7:13 am Doha local time 4:13 am universal time.
Al Ansari added that the crescent of the month of Shawwal will set after the sunset of the investigation day, 20 April 2023, in the sky of the State of Qatar, with a period of 22 minutes, and that period will increase as we head west.
