Qatar astronomical society expected that the first day of Eid Al Fitr will fall on Wednesday, June 5th.
The State of Qatar depends on the Eid announcement from the Crescent Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. Dr Khaled bin Abdulla Turki Al Subaey, head of Qatar astronomical society, said, in statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the Crescent will be absent in Doha after only three minutes of sunset, and the maximum time the moon will remain in the Arab world will be in Rabat, where it will be absent after sunset by only 12 minutes.
He added that according to astronomy, Tuesday June 4th will be the last day of Ramadan for all countries that require Crescent moon sighting and the month of Shawwal will begin on Wednesday, June 5th. (QNA)
