The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on 1 June 2023 that a new online service has been introduced to ease the process of issuing a home business license for 15 types of businesses.

Note: Home business licenses may only be issued to citizens of Qatar.

The business types include:

• Meal preparation for events/gatherings
  
• Preparation of Arabic sweets
• Tailoring & sewing of women's clothing
• Embroidery and fabric processing
• Packaging of documents, memos & letters
• Website Designing
• Parcel and gift wrapping
• Copying and photocopying activities
• Making of perfumes and bukhoor
• Cosmetic production
• Software and website maintenance
• Preparation of pies and pastries
• Bookbinding
• Antiques & gifts
• Preparation of spices and seasonings

The requirements to apply for the license would be:

• Commercial license services application form
• Building completion certificate or land plan
• No objection of the owner of the property
• License holder’s undertaking
• To Whom It May Concern Certificate (Kahramaa)
• Copy of identity cards of the applicant and owner of the property
• My Address number plate of the house.

The licensing procedure will be done via the single window service on the MoCI website.
