The joint rainfall emergency committee started preparations to deal with the rainy season by holding several preparatory meetings under the chairmanship of Safar Mubarak Al Shafi, Assistant Undersecretary for General Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and membership of the concerned authorities.
The meetings discussed all the equipment, mechanisms, equipment and work teams needed to deal with rainwater pools and requests and communications of the public, in addition to the locations of the hot spots of these waters during the last season compared with previous years, and the importance of redoubling efforts during this year to provide all the necessary means to ensure the withdrawal of water pools as fast as possible.
The committee also discussed the possibilities of each participant, a plan for cooperation, coordination and speedy response to requests from the public and communications received by the operating room.
The committee will set up a mechanism for rain emergencies, prepare strategic plans to cope with it, coordinate and cooperate with the relevant authorities in this regard, and ensure the readiness of municipalities and competent departments and their readiness to deal with rain emergencies.
