The weather office has forecast strong winds and a maximum temperature of 40 degrees for today even as dusty conditions are expected to prevail.
North-westerly winds may reach a speed of 35 knots at times.
Owing to dusty conditions, the horizontal visibility is expected to fall to 2 kms or even less. The waves could rise up to 13 feet.
While the Met department reported a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius in Doha yesterday, there were reports of higher temperatures recorded in different areas between 12 noon and 3pm.
The minimum temperature was 24 degrees, reported from Ruwais and Abu Samra.
