Head of the South Traffic Department Major Mohamed Bin Jassim Al Thani has revealed that the General Directorate of Traffic has suggested to the concerned authorities to amend the punishment of showing off with vehicles at Sealine Beach and other dune bashing areas and doing dangerous stunts. The amended punishment may include impounding and compressing the vehicles so that those individuals who risk their own lives and those around by performing dangerous stunts and acrobatic acts with their cars while dune bashing can be stopped, according to q_news.
Major Mohammed believes that these acts of rashness while dune bashing threaten the lives of the nation's youth and he expressed his hope that the concerned authorities will take notice, approve these suggestion and implemented them as soon as possible before more lives are lost. Most of the accidents that happens at Sealine happen when the youth in Qatar take their cars there for dune bashing,
The General Directorate of Traffic has also suggested that the dune bashing areas be fenced off completely and rules and regulations should be applied to ensure dune bashing is done keeping these safety precautions in mind.
Dune bashing is one of Qatar's favourite pastimes, especially for the youth who gather together at Sealine and other similar areas over the weekends to show off their dune bashing tricks to friends and bystanders. There are as many cars dune bashing as there are onlookers. The crazier and more dangerous the stunts, the more the adrenaline rush and the more the cheers. Unfortunately, dune bashing can be very dangerous especially if the drivers are inexperienced and don't have full control on their vehicles. This may result in accidents with serious injuries and even death.
