Qatar stocks slumped yesterday due to heavy selling pressure. The index of the Doha Securities Market (DSM) was down by 2.89 percent, or 153.31 points, to 5,150.07. Small Qatari investors offloaded shares worth QR102.62m, but local corporate investors were involved in huge buys. They bought stocks valued at QR11.5m, whereas sold off shares were worth only QR2.1m. The banking and financial services counters took the maximum beating at 4.12 percent, followed by the insurance sector which was down 2.43 percent.
