This Saturday morning Doha’s book lovers enjoyed cake, coffee and an exchange of books, thanks to the first book swap organized by Doha Tweetups at MEESH Me-time Cafe.

The well stocked swapping table and relaxed, welcoming venue ensured it was a successful meet: attendees came away with different books and the experience of meeting new people in a new cafe. After requests to ensure this becomes a regular event, Doha Tweetups and MEESH Me-time Cafe are planning to make this happen… so watch this space.

If you’re new to Doha or haven’t heard of Doha Tweetups, you might not know that this online community group works with event partners to bring people together at regular events, from exploring the art world to learning how to make sushi. The organization’s previous Tweetups have been held at Hamad International Airport, Museum of Islamic Art and Katara.

Commenting on the event, co-founder of Doha Tweetups, Hani Arif, stated: “We deem an event a success when people ask for more of the same, and it’s been a real pleasure to bring people together and enable them to do what they love. It’s also been enjoyable to work with such a welcoming venue. We’re looking forward to hosting more book swaps and other events here ”

Meesh Me-Time Cafe is a new addition to the growing concept restaurants in town, which playfully means mingling and socializing is designed to be a place where you can eat, drink, and grab food and go.
