The city will host a seminar on ‘Doing Business in Qatar’ with the objective to boost investment and business locally. To be organised jointly by the General Secretariat for Development Planning (GSDP) and the World Bank, the seminar will discuss the key findings of a ‘Doing Business 2009’ report. The seminar will be held on November 17, said a news item posted on the GSDP website. The one-day seminar “Comparing Business regulations in 181 economies” will explain these findings and identify possible ways in which Qatar could make improvements. “Doing Business 2009” report was released in early September by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank.
