Qatar Tourism Authority Works with Organizers to Address Public Complaints About Doha Park Ticket Prices and Parking Organizers offering 50 percent discount on tickets between Sunday and Wednesday plus special offers on rides and games Doha 19 October 2011: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and organizers of the Doha Park 2011 have moved o address public concerns about the event, which has seen more than 22,000 visitors and 50,000 tickets sold since opening last Thursday. The QTA met Tuesday with organizing company and it was agreed that special prices should be offered between Sunday and Wednesday to encourage families to attend. Ticket prices have been reduced by 50 percent for tickets sold to events between Sunday and Wednesday. Also, there will be a special office for attendees – buy QR150 in games and rides coupons and the purchaser will receive another QR150 worth of coupons. This means QR300 in coupons and vouchers or just QR150. Organizers have also added six new rides and games to Doha Park’s selection, bringing to 40 the number of amusement rides on offer. Many of which have not been in Qatar before. QTA and organizers have also moved to deny media reports of parking fees at Doha Park and confirmed parking is free. Anyone asked to pay a fee should report the incident to officials immediately. Doha Park has met with unprecedented demand since opening last Thursday, with families and young and old enjoying the unique offering of the circus, carnival games and live entertainment. More than 50,000 tickets have been sold and 22,000 visitors have been through the gates since the opening. Numbers are expected to surge this weekend. - ILQ News -
