The Doha Municipality, represented by the Health Control Department of the Municipal Control Department, has prepared a work plan that includes intensifying inspection campaigns on food establishments during the holy month of Ramadan and ensuring that all institutions comply with the required health requirements.
The department inspectors, in partnership with the concerned authorities of the Ministries of Interior and Commerce and Industry, are conducting joint campaigns on food establishments in various regions of Doha.
In April, the Doha Municipality implemented 2,363 inspection visits to food establishments in various regions of Doha, which resulted in the closure of 33 of them due to violating administrative decisions, for periods of five to 30 days, in addition to editing 80 violations record minutes.
The department inspectors working at the checkpoints in the Industrial Area inspected in April about 15,000 food transport vehicles and issued violations for two of them for failure to comply with the health requirements required during the transport of foodstuffs while destroying the seized food items immediately.
Also in April, the municipality examined 112,844 carcasses and destroyed 1,330 whole carcasses unfit for human consumption with partial destruction of 3,065 kilograms of meat, in addition to examining 37,525 kilograms of fish, and destroyed 81 kilograms of them for not being suitable for human consumption.
