Hotels throughout Doha are preparing to celebrate Easter by offering a number of special packages and dining events for guests, most of which include entertainment and activities for children. Al Sharq Village and Spa will be hosting a number of activities on Sunday, with an Easter-egg hunt, colouring competition, petting zoo, face painting and Easter Bunny all being laid on alongside the brunch at Al Liwan, ‘bunny tea’ at Al Jalsa and a three-course lunch at the Al Dana restaurant. The Ritz-Carlton is hosting similar egg-hunting and other Easter-themed activities for visitors and their families, but is also hosting fine-dining Easter celebrations at its restaurants Porcini and La Mer, organised by executive chef Matthew Morrison. There are more family-orientated events taking place on Friday afternoon when children between six and twelve can partake in the ‘bunny tea’ and enjoy games, egg hunts and “lots of chocolate eggs!” In ‘The Lagoon,’ the buffet on April 12 will feature a seafood BBQ which will be accompanied by entertainment for children on the lawns. “The need to engage children during Easter with wholesome activities, such as Easter-egg hunts, face painting and live bunnies on the lawns of Lagoon cannot be underestimated. At The Ritz-Carlton, Doha our aim is to provide guests with exceptional dining experiences and fun activities for families to enjoy,” said Morrison. The Movenpick Hotel will be celebrating Easter on April 11 at noon, when it will hold a special brunch at the ‘Seasons’ restaurant during which children will be entertained by the Easter bunny in the kids’ corner. The recently opened W Hotel is also set to celebrate its first Easter in Doha by holding a ‘Spring Fling’ brunch on April 12 at “The Market by Jean-Georges” priced at QR280 per person. A spokesperson claimed that people should attend the W’s event “because springing forward with the W is more fun!” And the W will also be holding an Easter-egg hunt on Saturday afternoon, with the hidden eggs holding prizes such as dinner vouchers, spa passes, goodie bags and other treats. A spokesperson for the InterContinental claimed: “This Easter is all about family fun at the InterContinental,” adding that “for the little ones’ merriment, we have prepared a day impossible to forget.” She added that the Easter brunch will be held on Sunday, April 12, as well as April 19. The Ramada is also offering an Easter brunch on April 10 for QR120 per person, and half price for children under 10 years of age. The Easter-egg hunt will begin at 1pm. Brunch will start at 11am and conclude at 3pm. The Marriott Hotel will be hosting their Easter celebration from Thursday until Saturday, with the international selection of cuisine at the gallery brunch available for QR250. The brunch will feature Easter-themed entertainment for children throughout the three days. The hotel’s spa is set to launch a new facial treatment called “Gold Liquid Mask” as well. La Cigale is also celebrating Easter by offering a wide selection of sweets and chocolate at the La Cigale Traiteur’s April bazaar to commemorate the season. Le Cigalon restaurant will offer a special blend of Lebanese, Chinese and international dishes on April 12 and 19, and the hotel is offering discounts on room rates and spa treatments throughout the coming months. Easter brunch will also be served at the Grand Regency, which will feature Easter-themed cuisine and entertainment on April 12. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=283658&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
