cruising restaurant is a popular concept in Europe and the United States. Soon Qatar is going to get one. Mohamed Al Sadek, general manager and owner of the Al Mourjan Restaurant, said they will introduce in 2010 a Al Mourjan Boat Restaurant, which will be anchored near the Al Mourjan Restaurant building along the Corniche — a true gastronomic haven amid the bustle of the city. Al Sadek said the boat restaurant, which can accommodate up to 100 guests, will cruise along Doha Bay every two hours and will include a five-star restaurant, full staff, its own kitchen, and will play Al Mourjan’s brand of music. “This will be one of its kind in the country… guests can enjoy a candle light dinner while cruising along the Doha Bay, dining from a superb choice of menus… This is one of the best ways to fully appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of the Bay, its tranquil setting and the view,” said Sadek, who added that the boat had already been ordered and they are expecting delivery by mid-2010. Sadek said he plans to have a grand opening for the restaurant next year and will invite famous international chefs and celebrities from the region. “We will, of course, serve the same food we have at the Al Mourjan restaurant… This is what we are famous for… We have guests from all over the world come here just to sample our food… We get international bookings… So, we will be serving the same brand of Al Mourjan dishes,” he said. Al Mourjan, which serves Lebanese dishes, has recently introduced its Al Mourjan Dhow Cruise where guests can book their dinner and cruise around Doha Bay. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=September2009&file=Local_News200909013635.xml
