Doha Environmental Actions Project launches Anti-Littering Campaign

The campaign has been envisioned from the desire to share the love of Qatar’s natural beauty with the aim of triggering emotions, national pride, and ultimately, encourage citizens and residents to be their better selves and dispose of their trash responsibly.

To mark an end to 2017, Doha Environmental Actions Project is keen to raise public awareness of the environmental damage caused by the littering, and aid in making the public aware of the new Law #18 of 2017 on public hygiene which prohibits littering in public spaces and lays down stringent penalties for offenders, said a statement.

In support of this cause, international photographer and visual storyteller, Nabil Darwish, donated his time and expertise to took on the campaign elements of Creative Direction, Photography, Videography, and Production.

Doha Environmental Actions Project is a Qatar volunteer community including residents from more than 20 different nations and cultures gathering around the common goal of care and cleanliness of the local environment.

Following the vision of Discovering Qatar with a Purpose the group has been performing weekly beach restoration work throughout Qatar and is working to raise awareness against littering. After 7 months of efforts, over 35 clean-ups, and around 3000 large bags of trash and recyclables collected, the project seeks to put a stop to the main root source of the problem; littering.
