Doha Agreement essential for National Reconciliation says Erekat

Doha, January 25- Fatah Movement official Dr. Saeb Erekat said that the Doha agreement that was signed under the auspices of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani between Hamas and Fatah is now a tool for the implementation of the national reconciliation. He added that Doha will soon host a meeting of the Arab peace initiative Follow-up Committee after completing the formation of the new US administration, and the formation of the Israeli government. He praised in this regard the chairmanship of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Committee. Pointing to his visit to Doha, Erekat said in remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that he had met with HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah to discuss the implications of the Israeli elections and the new US administration on the peace process, and the coordination of positions within the framework of the Arab Peace Initiative, in addition to the Arab financial safety net, announced by the Arab states to support the Palestinian Authority. I was told that HH the Emir had made a decision on Qatar's contribution to the safety net, and it will be announced soon, Saeb Erekat said.
