InterContinental Hotel hosted Beachfest – a concert by a selection of musical stars and other entertainers on Thursday evening sponsored by iLoveQatar.net. The concert held on the hotel’s beach attracted a large number of music lovers, obviously drawn by the chance to see some of the world’s top DJs and producers in action. A spokesperson for the event said: “Beachfest is a brand new concept. It features additional entertainment giving it a festival feel.” Fire artists, jugglers and others were part of the evening’s entertainment. The stars of the event were Chris Willis, who sang on David Guetta’s hits such as Love is Gone, A Little More Love, and Everytime we Touch, and Yves LaRock, whose smash hit Rise Up is one of the biggest dance anthems of recent times. Local DJ’s Master Jay, DJ Sam and Paul Mendez also played sets. The climax was Judge Jules arrival alongside percussionist Ian C, who proceeded to wow the audience with an amazing set of recorded and live music. Including a number of remixes of famous songs, one of the highlights of his show was an upbeat, up-tempo version of the Kings of Leon hit, Use Somebody, which had the crowd going wild and was a perfect example of how a DJ can rework a classic tune and do something new with it. The atmosphere during the DJ’s set was electric, and despite being dwarfed by a huge television screen behind him, he managed to fill the massive stage with his intensity and energy, and appeared to be enjoying the crowd’s reaction as well. “It was an awesome night,” said one part-goer, who added. “I never thought we would have the chance to see such good live acts here in Qatar, but to see Judge Jules play in such a location was just brilliant”. The reaction from everyone at the event was positive, and revellers walked away happy. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=291006&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
