The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced that a traffic diversion will be in place on the southbound Al Shamal Road at Interchange N12 in Umm Slal Mohammed. The diversion will begin on Friday, 30 January 2015 and will be in place for 6 months.

This temporary diversion of the southbound Al Shamal Road is required to carry out the construction of a bridge deck over the proposed N12 Interchange and as part of the ongoing construction work to improve Al Shamal Road.

The 1.4 km diversion has three lanes on the southbound side that will then broaden back to four lanes at the end of the diversion which is the same number of lanes on the existing Al Shamal Road (as shown in the attached map).

Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their users safety.
