With the world going forth, I believe people have begun reminiscing even more. Therefore, the late 80’s and early 90’s trends and traditions are coming back. And even though we have been introduced to the Kindle (Thanks Amazon!), people are turning back towards books. The texture of the paper, the smell of a new book and the feeling of buying a new treasure - yep that’s something a device cannot get you. Here is a list of bookstore and library’s that you can look into to get some dose of that delicious and intoxicating smell of new books.

WHSmith

One of the most famous brands around here, WHSmith is easily located in Al Meera and a a few malls. It is internationally known as SMITH and sells different genres in their bookstore. Not only does WHSmith hold books but they sell stationary, newspapers, magazines and lifestyles products as well. The bookstore has gained its popularity since it was names amongst the top 550 stores in the world.

ISpy BookShop

Ispy is one of the oldest stores in the country. Aiming towards encouraging and supporting literacy in Qatar through the medium of books, you can find a number of books here. From learning to further growing, you will be able to get a hold of various genres here.

Jarir Bookstore

A hub of everything you would ever want, Jarir is one of the biggest bookstore and stationary shop in Doha. They have all the books one could imagine and a seating arrangement where you can relax. They have a little explore area for kids as well, so the whole family can enjoy a visit at Jarir.

Al Batra Bookshop

The book store was first launched in 1991 in Abu Dhabi and has made its way to be one of the top in the Gulf today. The MIA Bookstore is the hub of creativity here in Doha. From specialist books to monographs on Islamic art, you will be able to explore all options here. They have a collection for museums and catalogues as well which made their collection of 15, 000 books all the more interesting. Needless to say, they have one of the largest bookstores on Islamic art in the region.

Apart from their Islamic Art section, the MIA bookstore has special time for children and hold extensive books that will help your child think creatively. From art activities to art history, everything is available at the MIA bookshop
