Doha Festival City, Qatar’s unique, world-class retail, entertainment and dining destination has collaborated with Qatar Charity and the Traffic Department, to distribute two thousand Iftar boxes, from IKEA’s restaurant in a bid to contribute towards society and raise awareness on the importance of community efforts during Ramadan.

The Iftar Boxes were distributed amongst drivers, security guards, retailers’ staff, facilities crew, construction workers, and on-road drivers. The Doha Festival City team delivered the boxes at the mall’s Taxi pick up and drop off area, Al Shamal Road, and in the vicinity of Alkhiritiyat area. The boxes were also distributed across the Qatar Charity Organization Ramadan tents.

Robert Hall, General Manager of Doha Festival City, said “We believe that we have a role to play in the community that has chosen us as their preferred destination. That’s why we wanted to recognize the Holy Month of Ramadan and gift the iftar boxes to those who are still working during the Iftar hour to break their fast and sustain themselves until they have their Iftar with their families and friends. ”

Alexey Sitkin, Store Manager of IKEA Qatar, said: “Caring for the people and the planet is one of the values of IKEA, we strive to engage with the local community and give back in the month of giving. IKEA Restaurant takes role in the Holy Month every year by preparing a healthy and rich meal for those who fast, which reflects the variety and healthy options of the restaurant’s menu during the month.”
