His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today in Cairo with H.E. Foreign Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shokri.

The meeting dealt with reviewing the positive developments in bilateral ties, following the signing of Al-Ula declaration in January, and stressed the importance of building on this important step by taking further measures to enhance the positive momentum in the coming period, and seize the large economic and investment opportunities available in the two countries, to achieve their interests.

The meeting also dealt with reviewing ways to enhance mechanisms of joint Arab work, given the State of Qatar is presiding over the Arab League, in addition to discussing the two countries' positions regarding regional issues, particularly developments related to the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

H.E the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's thanks to the Arab Republic of Egypt's efforts in reaching a ceasefire in Gaza.

H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani also met with H.E. President of the Arab Republic of Egypt where he delivered a written message sent by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, pertaining to bilateral relations and the means to enhance them.

At the outset of the meeting, H.E the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of H.H. the Amir to HE the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Highness' wishes of good health and happiness to His Excellency, and for the Egyptian people continued progress and prosperity.

For his part, H.E. the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt entrusted H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs with his greetings to HH the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and happiness, and the Qatari people further progress and growth.

The meeting dealt with reviewing bilateral cooperation, in addition to developments in Palestine and the region.

H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for the strategic and pivotal role played by the Arab Republic of Egypt in protecting the Arab national security and defending the Arab World's causes, as well as its efforts in establishing security, stability, and development regionally.
