HH Sheikha Mozah Nasser al-Misnad yesterday chaired the third meeting of the Arab Democracy Foundation (ADF)’s board of trustees. The meeting discussed the latest development in Gaza and the reports of the democratic performance in 16 Arab states compiled by the foundation’s monitoring committee. The meeting also took up the foundation’s strategy for the next five years and the projects for this year. ADF’s secretary general, Mohsen Marzouq, told reporters that among the projects would be the Doha festival for freedom and creativity, first regional conference on human security, Doha Master Project for human rights and democracy and the Arab youth parliament. He declared the partnership agreement between the ADF and the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage to launch the Doha festival for freedom and creativity in April this year. Dr Marzook Basher of the ministry told reporters that the festival found all the support of HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, the minister within the framework of having partnerships with governmental and NGOs bodies. Basher said that the culture is a public interaction and not exclusive task of the ministry. He hoped that this partnership would be a step followed by others in the future. The board members include Qatari and Arab and Western ministers and former officials. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=266255&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
