The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) has announced via its official Twitter that they received a report from a coast guard regarding a deceased dugong in Al Khor.

The Ministry immediately responded and located the creature and discovered that it was caught in a fishing net.
The Ministry reminds the public and fishermen of the need and importance of preserving the safety and security of dugongs and marine life as well as protecting their natural habitat.
