The Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced in a tweet on May 8, 2022, the sad demise of former Qatari football player Adel Al Mulla.

The former football star had passed away due to an unfortunate occurrence of a heart attack in London on May 7, 2022.
Adel Al Mulla, who was aged 51 years old had played a vital role in the Barcelona Olympic Games in the year 1992 as he had spearheaded Qatar's qualification for the games. Furthermore, he had represented Qatar in multiple international matches and had also played for local football clubs such as Al Arabi, Al Khor and Al Rayyan.
Upon the announcement of the demise, condolences and tributes were shared by many top officials and football clubs in Qatar including H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani president of the Qatar Olympic Committee.
