THE GLOBAL PARTY, DOHA Sons of Gipsy Kings and DJ Johnny Gleeson to perform at this year’s The Global Party in Doha. Footballer David Beckham to make a special announcement. Sons of Gipsy Kings and the Australian DJ Johnny Gleeson will perform in Doha this Thursday (September 15) at The Global Party. The artists confirmed their attendance to the event, where the audience will also receive a special video message from the British footballer David Beckham, who will talk about his work with a Foundation linked to The Global Party. The American singer, Macy Gray, is the headline act and Lebanese pop star Carole Samaha will also play. On the night, which will mark the first time the world celebrates The Global Party, organisers have decided to support the 21st Century Leaders Foundation, the first charity to register in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City, the GCC’s first ever carbon neutral zero waste city. “We have worked in Qatar before with organisations including Reach Out To Asia and I am excited to be here again,” said Charlotte di Vita, MBE, 21st Century Leaders Foundation founder. “As a way of saying thanks to everyone that is coming, we have some special treats lined up. It’s going to be an amazing occasion for Doha to remember. At least,” she joked, “until next year when we hope do it all over again.” Artwork from a Stella McCartney designed watch to a Snoop Dogg signed bag , a Donna Karan designed iPhone case to a Nicole Kidman designed bag are just some of the goodies the Key-2 Luxury guests will be gifted by the charity, as it continues its mission to raise awareness in the Gulf. The Global Party is a unique event, where more than 80 of the world’s countries will throw more than 80 of the most luxurious parties. The global guest list is set to swell at over 88,000. “We have spent many days transforming the new venue, The Royal Avenue at The Pearl-Qatar into three spectacular rooms for our guests to enjoy,” said event director Yannis Michalandos. “Macy Gray is flying in with her own band, so we’re looking for a very special evening of live music. The Key-2 Luxury guests will be given an incredible experience in an unforgettable atmosphere as well as some surprise acts.
