The annual Darb Al Saai event, located in Al Sadd, welcomed a multitude of visitors when the ILoveQatar team paid the site a visit this morning.

Darb Al Saai — which roughly translates to the “path of the people” in English — has an array of different fun and educational activities that everyone can partake in.

A lot of the activities at Darb Al Saai are actually heavily geared towards children. These include both educational and interactive activities.

A number of local and government entities have set up “tents” that people can visit, very reminiscent of the traditional Bedouin-style tents. Although they’re referred to as tents, they’re more like large air-conditioned portable cabins.

Different tents showcase Qatar’s different sectors. The Al Doha tent has booths set up from entities like Qatar University, Qatar National Bank, ASTAD, Kahramaa, and more. Each of these entities have their own mini activities and programs in order to help inform visitors more about what they do in Qatar.

Other fun activities include horse-riding at Al-Shaqab, rifle-range shooting as part of the Al Nasa tent, a mini car-circuit for kids at the Traffic Department area, as well as a mini reserve that features Qatar’s local animals, hosted by the Al Kubaisi Reserve. There’s also a huge playground for children to play in.

Visitors can also get free health check-ups, vaccinations, information on how to deal with emergency situations, and even sign up to be organ donors, at the Health tent.

Qatar Foundation (QF) had their own section that informed visitors more about the facilities and different universities within it and Education City.

There was also a section of Darb Al Saai dedicated to Souq Waqif. Visitors can walk through and purchase food as well as Qatar National Day merchandise.

A number of local startups can also be found at the venue, namely in the food and business industries.
