Customs at Hamad International Airport have foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotic hashish into the country yesterday. This time the hashish was smuggled in the form of chocolate bars and packed in a natural way. The weight of the seizures reached 5 kilos and 503 grams.
As shown in the video posted by the General Authority of Customs on Facebook, the drugs were packed using the packaging of a famous chocolate brand.
Last December 2019, the Ministry of Interior arrested a gang for attempting to smuggle 100 kilos of hashish. Another 28 kilos of hashish was also seized on an unknown boat near the northern coast of the country. 2.8 tons of chewing tobacco inside a melon shipment was also found by Customs, reported on 24 December 2019.
