Municipal officials are launching a crackdown on expatriate women illegally free lancing as beauticians and visiting homes during the current festival season. Civic officials say they suspect that freelance beauticians use cheap and dangerous cosmetic materials and creams which can harm their users. Whips will also be cracked on erring beauty salons and male barber shops. Vigil is being mounted on the eve of the festive season on these outlets to make sure they do not violate health and safety regulations. The other outlets that will remain under the constant scanner of civic officials are the eateries and foodstuff stores. Civic officials, meanwhile, said all the preparations for slaughtering sacrificial animals on Eid Al Adha day tomorrow are over. Some 18 veterinarians are being deputed at the various abattoirs and they will be open from 7am until 9pm. Queues will be disciplined and people waiting for their turn to slaughter animals will not be allowed to sell their coupons in black, a practice which has been noticed in the past. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=November2009&file=Local_News2009112652556.xml
