From Murray to Djokovic, Berdych and Tsonga, the titans of men’s tennis will be back in top form from January 2-7, 2017 for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2017.

This year marks the tournament’s 25th anniversary, which has paved the way since 1993 for the ATP World Tour’s 250 series. The season-opening event will see world number one defending champion Andy Murray go head-to-head with world number two, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open has set the pace for the ATP World Series since its inaugural match in 1993 and offers one of the largest prize-draws of the tournament for the athlete that takes home its golden falcon trophy. It also won the award for the best 250 ATP Tour tournament of 2015, continuing to draw some of the biggest names in the sport, while acting as a platform for talented newcomers to move up its star-studded ranks.

Since German sensation Boris Becker slammed his way to victory against Croatia’s Goran Ivanisevic in the inaugural 1993 final, the tournament has continued to attract the best-of-the-best in the sport over its two-decade-long stretch. Joining Murray and Djokovic in Doha this round will be 2012 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Czech star player Tomas Berdych.

The tournament will host 25 direct entries and three wild cards with four qualifiers in the singles events, while the doubles tournament will feature 16 teams. This year’s event will once again feature the ever popular Public Village and Food Court with show courts and performance spaces, a VIP area, and Kids Zone that will feature family entertainment and a chance for children to try their hand at tennis.

Tickets for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open matches are available at Landmark, City Center, and Villaggio Malls, or directly from the kiosk at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. For more information on the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2017 visit www.qatartennis.org.
