The online registration service for Qatar Census 2020, resumed by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) since the start of December, has seen a considerable turnout by families and individuals, which indicate the deep community awareness of the importance of this national project that is entering its final phase.

In a statement, PSA has pointed out that more than 45,000 from the population have already filled in their data online, and called on the remaining number of both Qataris and expatriates to use the online registration service to complete the necessary process for filling on the required statistic information. The form will be available to fill in online at until January 7, 2021.

PSA further stressed that such online survey process is easy, quick and highly confidential to fill in the necessary information and data. It is also easily accessible from anywhere inside and outside the country. Besides, those who fill in the required information online would not need the visit of PSA representative at their houses to collect their information during the field operations that will go on from 13 December to mid-January 2021.

In the meantime, PSA pointed out that the online registration process starts with logging on , then the user will register his or her QID number and the mobile phone number registered in his name. After that, a special PIN will be sent to this registered mobile number through SMS, which will give access to the census form to fill in. PSA stressed that these steps are important to guarantee the full accuracy and confidentiality of the information according to Law No. 2 of 2011 on Official Statistics.

In addition, PSA stressed that Qatar Census 2020 adopts the latest and most sophisticated approaches, technology and practices in the process of collecting the required data and guarantee its efficiency, protection and confidentiality.

The PSA has earlier announced that it would resume the final phase of the Census 2020 that was postponed due to the precautionary measures of COVID-19.
